Mindset

This post is VERY honest, and it took some courage to lay my REAL numbers out for all to see...so please be respectful and open-minded when reading this post! :)

Yesterday, I did what I preach to my Herbalife customers and clients ALL THE TIME.
"Gotta check those measurements, weight, and body fat %!"

Ever since, attempting, to train for a bikini show (so almost a year ago), I haven't checked my body fat regularly since being done with "cutting." Or more appropriately, since being done being "in prep." I rocked down to ~16.0% body fat as of March 2014, weighing in at 135 (that has been my lowest since I can remember).

Mind you...In 2013, I was around 32.0% body fat and weighed 170 lbs. Which isn't and wasn't great. SO getting down to ~16.0% is pretty amazing for a female. Avid bikini competitors sit around 12-14.0%.

Let me put it in perspective for you:

If you are a healthy, active female (younger at that), you should sit anywhere between 20-24.0% body fat. This means you are doing really well for yourself.

I've been SO SO SO SO scared to check it regularly like I used to since completing what I stated above. I knew I'd go back up. I could feel it. I was expecting to hit high 20's...like 28/29.0%.

But, the results were in and I'm proud to say that I'm rocking a 21.8% at 142.8lbs!
I was surprised at how happy and pleased I was with this result.

Let's get to the, "really, come on" part of this post. Since when is 16.0% a good thing? Like where did I get this image in my head that if I go up from there that I am fat? Really, come on!

My lesson learned was to CHILL OUT. I've been seeing better results and more PRs in the gym at 21.8% than I did at ~16.0%. I remember that feeling. I looked really great, IMO (sorry to be a little boastful). But in no way did I feel great. I checked my stomach in the mirror ALL THE TIME. And most importantly, I felt SO WEAK at the gym. I'm going to be very honest, CrossFit movements need to be done with some "fat" on your body. Not borderline "model size." I am happy to accept my new mindset. I am embracing it fully and I WILL check my results regularly (weekly/biweekly), just as my clients do.

*Side note: more power to the people that are figure competitors. I have some serious respect for you!*

How do I expect them to get results if I'm stagnant?

Welcome to my world. Always changing. It's wonderful! I am beyond grateful that Herbalife has completely transformed my life and my mindset. What a gift it has been!

I am happy! :)
