Tuesday Trickery

I'm convinced Tuesday's are more difficult than Monday's. However they aren't as bad as Sunday evenings. Ever since I can remember, I get a weird sort of anxiety on Sunday nights. Like the weekend flew by. Did I get enough done? Do I need to get anything ready for the week? Food prep! Anything I need to mail this week? Anything I need to get dropped off this week? Who do I need to respond to? Etc. Etc. One day I will conquer the thought of Sunday nights &Tuesday's. We'll work on it. ;)

On a good note, the weekend was great! A baby shower, drill team tryout (judging), and an attempt to start a new book! Not to mention, the weather on Saturday was FAN-TAS-TIC! I am such a warm weather kinda gal. Give me warmth/heat/hotness EVERY day. I'm there. I should move to a beach eventually...

Going back to my hometown to judge tryouts for this years' upcoming team was very fun & kinda stressful. I love seeing the potential girls have and remembering being in their position. There were a lot of girls that tried out, and so many of them have great great potential. We are given X amount of girls that can be on the team, so it's a process to deliberate and pick out the people that will flourish, and I really hope the other girls will work on the things that will help them get on the team if they really want to be on it in the next year. (That was me!)

On another note...
I started a new book! I've been trying to get a book in a month since the beginning of 2017 and so far so good. Whether it's a guilty pleasure book, or a personal development book, I am open to either option.

This month, I'm going for personal/business development. I've been eye-balling a certain book on Amazon for a while, and finally made a spur-of-the-moment decision to get it.

I am always looking to become a better human. Especially when it comes to talking to people and really working on my attitude. I'm only 5 chapters in and this book has me sold. It's really good & I have learned a lot so far that I can apply to my both personal and work/business life.

The book is, Get Over Your Damn Self.

I highly recommend it if you're in for a good, non-guilty pleasure but super life-relatable read. It's about the no-BS blueprint to building a life-changing business. More so for me, about overcoming self-doubt & fear.

One of my favorite quotes I've highlighted so far is this:

"...we can manifest anything we want, simply by setting the intention."

"When you throw a tennis ball in the air, you can count on it coming down. Intention is just like that tennis ball. It comes back just the way you send it out."

I can't wait to continue to dig farther into this book. My goal is to read "at least" one chapter per day to get my mind off of work, life, etc. It's a great way to just get out of my own head for about 20 minutes.

A Very Special Day!

🎈🎉🎣HAPPY (60th) BIRTHDAY to PAPA JOHN!!! ðŸŽ£ðŸŽ‰ðŸŽˆ

So glad we got to celebrate with him this past weekend. He might be the most hardworking retired guy I know!

I'm going to greet him with a brand new bottle of Jack Daniels & (his favorite) French Silk Pie when I see him later today. Hopefully, he gets to break out his fishing gear and do what he does best one of these days!

Birthday Weekend 3.31.17

It was a fast weekend, that's for sure. I don't think I got much sleep...at least it doesn't feel like I did. Friday night, my sister, and friends Melissa & Jen came over and we had an "ugly leggings" exchange & we all have birthday's within a couple of months of each other so it was like celebrating all 4 birthdays! It was so much fun and the leggings were quite hideous (in our opinion). It was hard to vote, but I'll let you decide which were the "worst.

😂

Top to Bottom:
(We think is) Humpty Dumpty
 Gummy bears/lemons/oranges
Bears
Bucking Horse Cowboys

---------------------------------------------------------

I have some very cute/hilarious videos on my phone of the boys doing SnapChat filters (which they LOVE), and are starting to talk more. How does this happen so fast?!

Back in the Habit

Know what movie that "sub" title is from?

Sister Act II, in case it's killing ya!

So one of my best (and longtime...like 23 years to be exact) friends blogs often. Her blog is fantastic. She is the one who actually inspired me to start mine some time ago. We were texting back and forth today and she told me it's her 5th year of blogging! Consistently blogging. Is she not a super star?

I have been so on and off on my blogging. I was great at the beginning, but life happened at the end of summer 2015 and I kind of fell out of love with it & was suuuuper splotchy. So, that being said, I want to get back into it.

There's a lot to catch you up on in my life. Seriously. So much.

I have a new job, new house, a fantastic, lifting loving boyfriend, closer to my parents, my nephews are growing SO fast, I started a new business...

In the mean time, some updated photos!

Blake & I
To catch you up on this guy...He is pretty great. He has a lot of the same interests and passions as I do--lifting, body building, eating clean (and the opposite--PIZZAAAA), music, relaxing, family, reading, etc. But he also has his own interests and passions that make him HIM. He is unbelievably good at rapping. Like insane good. He's got a few videos on YouTube, rapped the 'best man' speech @ his friends wedding, and could probably knock something out outta nowhere after a couple of brewskis if you asked him. ;) He's super good/smart/knowledgeable at mostly anything related to science. SO SMART. I can't say a word and he knocks it out like it's nothing. Um K, Blake! Lol!

How Blake & I got started was kind of weird. We both admit it was so weird.
I used to get up at the crack of dawn to workout over a year and a half ago, and I'd check my snapchat stories, and he would STILL be awake at 4am. Finally, one morning at 4am, I messaged him and asked, "Do you ever sleep?!" And the rest is history... I will say, he was supportive through some tough times and obstacles over the last year and a half. Specifically prepping for the physique show I did in the Fall of 2015. Now, we're two peas in a pod when it comes to body building!

My sister's family
The boys are growing so quickly it's almost surreal. They are the sweetest boys I know. Mom & Dad are great and definitely have their hands full, but they always seem to make it work. All 3 sets of grandparents adore these two cuties...as do all the aunts and cousins. I can't handle that they'll be 2 in June. How???

P.S. My favorite outfits they've ever owned---their pimp suits ;)
...OK, so maybe not my FAVORITE favorite outfits, but they take a close 3rd place to Dino & Shark outfits. :)

My family
I know this photo represents a small portion of my ever growing family. But everyone is well. :) This picture is one of my favorites and I hope we can make it a yearly event! And, BEEBS! She is doing so well! <3 She likes Blake more than she likes me, I think.

30 Before 30

You saw it, didn't ya? :)

My '30 Before 30' list?! I'll break it down for ya'll.

1. (Another) Bikini/Figure comp: self explanatory. I'll probably do more than one, but I want to know that I am ready!
2. Travel out of the US: Mexico, Europe, AUSTRALIA?! (my dream)
3. Parasail: never have. Looks amazing.
4. Take a cooking class: I'm decent at it, but it would be so fun!
5. Take ballroom lessons: I did in college and LOVED it. I would love to do it again (with an actual [guy] partner. Hi Blake. :) )
6. Piano lessons: I did when I was in middle school and I quit. I wish I wouldn't have.
7. Kiss a dolphin: Because who wouldn't want that picture op?
8. Write a short novel: lifetime accomplishment I've always wanted to do.
9. Deep sea fishing: because Jaws 1, 2, 3, and Revenge still couldn't hold me back from attempting to catch a sword fish or a huge grouper! ...Okay, maybe they could. But I will take some Dramamine and try not to think about it.
10. Handstand walk: it's all about learning new things.
11. Take pottery (painting) class: I took ceramics in college, but I would love to make my own work and paint it for fun instead of a grade ;)
12. Boxing: I can kickbox...but I don't know the first thing about straight up boxing. And I need a new way to take out my frustrations.
13. Dance in front of a crowd: I miss performing and dancing. Period.
14. Zipline: Whether it's in (old) downtown Las Vegas or above the trees in Hawaii, I would love to feel like I'm flying. :)
15. Plan and Redecorate a room in my house: My mom is really good at this...so I hope it rubbed off.
16. Make sushi (hopefully I'll like it by then): I've tried it, but I would like to learn how to make it. Still developing a taste for it---lol.
17. Hosting a family holiday: I missed my calling as a party planner.
18. Tattoo of a cardinal (or a cardinal feather): My grandpa loved birds, and I specifically remember him loving cardinals. I've always wanted a tattoo that represents him...this shall be it.
19. Hike a mountain: Give me the challenge. And I want to take a pic of conquering the challenge.
20. Sleep under the stars: grab me a bottle of wine, some blankets, silence, and my boo.
21. Take a self defense class: while I'm sure my kickboxing instincts would kick in, I'd like to know what the heck I'm doing!
22. Bury a time capsule: Because it would be so fun when I'm 75 to dig it up!
23. Visit an out of state friend: I need to travel more.
24. Build a piece of furniture: because I'd like to look at something that I built rather than just painted or refurbished in my home.
25. Learn how to sew: My mom won't be around forever to fix my stuff. It's a dying art that I want to learn.
26. Attend an MLB or NFL game: I attended a Phillies game a couple of years ago and I had a blast! I'd love to attend a professional game again.
27. Volunteer @ an animal shelter: You'll find me in the cat room ;) or leaving with a dog.
28. Learn Spanish or French: yet again, a challenge I would love to accomplish. So when I travel, I can speak to the locals and interact with them. :)
29. A veggie/fruit garden: I like to think I have a green thumb.
30. Climb to the top of a lighthouse: because I don't visit the beach enough, and it would be a glorious view. :)
